I already knew for years that his website went down. But recently I had a renewed interest in artificial evolution and thought about contacting the original author of 3dvce and asking nicely for the source code. But the more I researched for an e-mail or some other way of contacting him the more it seemed like he just vanished.
I went into a full on stalker mode, but I couldn't find much about his whereabouts. I know he went to Carleton University in Canada and got his Dr. in Computer Science in 2009 and right around end of 2009 he suddenly disappears, also the last scientific publication by Lee K. Graham is from 2009. From what I found he seemed to be very active on the internet before August~December 2009, he posted in multiple forums either related to his programm (3DVCE) or the International Skeptics. On one website I found (Grassroot Skeptics), it was stated that he is/was employed at the Wesleyan University. (I believe it is him because it is mentioned that he acquired a PhD in Computer Science from Carleton University in 2009, which fits). On the other hand, I read a few times he'd be at the Connecticut College in the USA, but I can neither confirm nor deny any of those claims.
I also found one blog post which mentioned that someone communicated with someone (...) at his earlier academic position and they said he 'left' without more information. What exactly this "academic position" was... I don't know. At another forum I read that his company went broke.(Also no citable source for that one). And I wonder how his disappearance could relate to his company going under. I mean he has a PhD in CS, the chances he'd starve under a bridge are rather slim.
The most interesting piece of info I have is a publication from 2011 where a "Graham, L. Dept. of Comput. Sci., Connecticut Coll., New London, CT, USA " released a paper on "Comparison of a greedy selection operator to tournament selection and a hill climber
", which could fit into his computer/evolution background. There even is an e-mail if you search hard enough. Anyway I have doubt that it's him, in his e-mail address he spells himself "lgraham" and in the publication he's only referred to as "Lee Graham" and not "Lee K. Graham" like it he was in all pre 2009 publications. But now I'm stuck, maybe I'll shoot an e-mail at the address and see what happens.
TLDR:
2008 -> Lee is active on Youtube, Forums, there's some website trouble an he's in Carleton University
2009 -> Last publication I can confirm. He get's his PhD.
2010 -> Website gone, Lee gone
2011 -> Publication which may be him in Connecticut.
.
.
2014 -> Nothing
Does anybody else know more information? Please post :)
